SEAQUAL COMBINED WITH ECOVERO, TO PRESERVE THE OCEANS

♻️ Seaqual® is a 100% recycled polyester whose material supply comes 10% from ocean waste (fishing nets, plastic bottles recovered from the oceans, etc.). They are then sorted, washed, and cut into small flakes, which can then be mixed with other materials (of better quality) to make a thread and then a fabric.

🌿 ECOVERO® is of plant origin (wood pulp) and secondarily transformed by a chemical process (the extracted pulp is manipulated using solvents to give a fiber which will be spun into yarn and fabric). It is biodegradable and comes from sustainable forests. The material is made from wood from sustainably managed forests. The process of transforming wood into fabric follows strict standards imposed by the EU Eco Label, to ensure that it is environmentally friendly. This label only rewards products with a low environmental impact across the entire chain: raw materials, manufacturing, distribution and end of life cycle.

This material is a good alternative to conventional viscose, because the manufacturing of its fibers generates up to half as many emissions and water consumption: the transformation process to obtain the fabric requires little water. Toxic solvents used in the viscose manufacturing process are replaced with a non-toxic, recyclable solvent for Ecovero fiber.

The process takes place in a closed circuit since almost all of it is recovered to be used again. The production of ECOVERO viscose consumes 50% less water and generates 50% less CO2 emissions than classic viscose

♻️ Coming mainly from the recycling of water bottles, rPET (Recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate), is commonly called recycled polyester in the textile sector. Its use helps reduce the impact on the climate. It is therefore recycled, but also infinitely recyclable.

This therefore makes it a low-impact raw material, beneficial for the climate, according to a truly circular economy.

THE ADVANTAGES OF THE MATERIAL

SEAQUAL offers the same properties and qualities as a fiber made from virgin polyester fiber. By supporting SEAQUAL INITIATIVE, you are helping to clean our oceans, support local communities and move society towards a circular economy.

Ecovero has a supple and soft feel, not far from that of Lyocell Tencel® or possibly silk. It is a fluid, breathable and comfortable material.

In the same vein, the dyes applied are also ecological and consume little water and energy since they save more than 20% water, 40% energy and also reduce CO2 emissions. by almost 50%!

The combination of these two materials provides resistance, softness and flexibility.

By choosing products containing recycled marine plastic, you are helping to end plastic pollution.

THE PRICE

Contrary to popular belief, recycled polyester is more expensive than virgin polyester (around 30% more). One might believe that using waste helps reduce costs, however, waste collection is not free, processing is complex and on the other hand, the price of crude oil is not enough high to compensate.

The Ecovero manufacturing method uses a fairly specific technology which increases the production cost, compared to conventional viscose fabrics. Its manufacturing process and its labeling give it a guarantee of quality.

Due to its resistance, it is a garment that you can wash many times and that you will keep for a long time!

Our engagements

Consume less, but consume better by wearing quality clothing that you won't see on everyone!

Phalaenopsis favors labeled or recycled natural materials (for synthetics) and relies on the Oeko-Tex ® label: that is to say that our fabrics do not contain any chemical residue that could present a health risk.

Some of our fabrics are upcycled: they have been recovered to give them a second life.

Phalaenopsis only produces in very small series or to order in order to avoid overproduction.
